Spend some time to sing songs with your child

Row Row Row your boat

Hello Song

Using mirror to introduce body parts

http://www.supersimplesongs.com/cd1-4.html

I put the mirror in front of Abbie and Sing the song “one little finger……., put it on you lips!” She is very excited.

I also read the book with mirror to her and introduce the body part by using the mirror.

若果貪心想BB也認識該生字的話可以用Flash Card( flash card的創立人是外國人所以沒有資料支持中文生字是否一樣有效) 所以這部分我自己只會用英文。

You can try

Put the mirror in front of the baby to introduce the body part. Perhaps, you can sing the popular children song “Head & Should, Knee & Toe”.

You can also using the flash card if you wish the baby explore the relevant words.

Using both hands (左右手一起用!)

Abbie tries to hold the toys in both hands!

And then as you see in the pictures, she loves the “pink dougnut” and let go the rattle!

  1. Try to let your baby to hold things in both hands. It would help to stimulate the whole brain, also the left right hand/ eye hand co-ordination.
  2. Or you can have the baby to transfer the object from one hand to another hand^^

Abbie @ The Little gym

Today, we brought Abbie to The Little gym to have some fun in the class named “Bugs” (for the baby from 4-10mths).

We arrived at 12:15, 15 minutes earlier before the class started. The environment is great. Neat and tidy, enough space for babies to move freely (although Abbie is not yet to crawl very well), natural light, warm and welcome atmosphere, good facilities……

Our teacher Ms. Pxx, she is excellent. First, we had some warm up activites such as stretching, jumping, walking……a series of excercises not only for warm up but also strengthen the muscle prepare the baby to crawl and walk.

we are walking slowly

Then she introduced how to hold the baby to complete the moment of rolling which can help the development of inner ear. (sort of balancing but that’s doesn’t mean that it is a must to do so) She also helped Abbie to do hand stands.I was suprised that Abbie can have a turn to try the unparellel bars with assist.

Abbie tries the unparellel bars twice!!
Another equipments which help babies roll.
I love the parents who are engaged in the class with their babies!!
Bubble Time, as the bubbles fall down slowly so babies have enoght time to watch!

However, near the end of the class Abbie fell asleep. “Abbie is the youngest in the class and  she is falling asleep so we sing the song softly.” Teacher said. I held her in my arms and the whole class sang the Goodbye Song softly (so sweet).

To sum up, the teacher is so professional which make me feel comfortable to follow her instructions to do the activities with Abbie.

My first happy Diwali

Our school celebrated Diwali yesterday. We had have a lot of fun and did various activities. We made rangolis, diyas and ate samosas(好似咖喱角but not spicy).

However, I was very stressful when I needed to tell the story of Diwali. I did the prepartion such as search the information from internet, read the story before I told many times, made the props. The problem was I don’t know how to pronounce the vocabularies which in the story (e.g. Ayodhya, Lakshmana, Hanuman……><“).

And I was panic when I was telling the stroy in front of the children and the parents. Some of them are Indians!

Luckily, the parnets were very nice. They reminded me how to pronounce the vocabularies and everything run very smooth.

I am very happy that I learn and experience a lot from this function.

One of the parents in my class brought the Sari and help me to wear. We show the process in front of the class and the children said that it like wrapping a gift ^^

This is diyi and it was made by one of our class. Diwali is an indian festival which is to celebrate the return of Rama and Sita.

If you want to know more about Diwali below is the useful link.

Montessori Maths – Cards and Counters

One of the exercises which help children arrange the sequence of numeral 1-10 and the proper quantity for each numeral. The child also learn how to assoicate between the numeral 1-10 and the loose quantity.

Moreover, it gives visual impression of odd and even quantities and later to introduce the term ‘odd and even’

    • 首先,Letterland都有教/ch/的音,而將兩每而將兩個英文字母拼寫變成另一個新的音叫 digraphs (two letters that make one sound e.g. /sh/, /ch/, /ng/……)
    • Synthetic Phonics的精髓是(a carefully selected set of letter-sound relationships that are organized into a logical sequence{對不起,不知中文該怎樣寫})簡單講即是拼讀。
Frequency usage words.
